Paint is a material that is designed to mask a surface. Even though paint adheres to a surface it remains a separate entity.In most cases, the surface must be prepared with a primer in order for the paint to adhere properly. Paint simply masks the surface. This masking only adds color to the surface to make it more attractive. Furthermore, paint does not prevent moisture content, fungi or other natural processes from coming between it and the surface to which it has been applied. These processes cause paint to flake off, leaving the surface unprotected and unable to resist the deterioration and fading effects caused by UV radiation.
A coating however, is a material that is designed to bond to the surface.To bond to a surface means the coating adheres in such a way that it and the surface become united. In addition, a coating has a 70% solid content by weight. Paints typically have a 30% solid content.

What we cannot coat
We cannot coat any surface designed to move and seal against another surface, like a swinging door or window for example. Our coatings ability to bond will seal the area shut if the door or window were closed against a framed opening.
